Quick Update

After a long week at the lake house we came home to find Mike very sick.  He was so sick he couldn't finish a class he was taking and he had to move his "Go Ruck Challenge" to a different day.  He was miserable.  We will be visiting multiple doctors this month to try to get to the bottom of this!  Someone who never gets sick EVER, doesn't just randomly get sick 5 times in a year.

There was a block party the night of the 4th and some of the neighbors were setting off fireworks.  It was fun!  We let Tristan stay up late to see the show.  He really enjoyed it.  About 11:30 Tristan woke with a start and was screaming. He had a very high temp and couldn't get comfortable.  We had to give him some Tylenol and put him in a cool bath to get his temp down.  After many wake-ups throughout the night, we took him to the doctor in the morning.  They said his ears look great and they also tested him for strep (neg).  They thought it was just a virus and he bounced back to completely normal the next day.

Darrell came up with a concept to turn the "hot tub" (never used as such) into a baby pool and it works out amazing.  Now I can sit on the edge of the pool and let Tristan play in the water without having to hold him the entire time.  Makes it so nice!! He basically took PVC pipe and lattis and made an extention of the step.  It is pretty damn cool!!

There is also progress on our swamp!  We will be getting french drains put in a couple places in our backyard to help with the wetness!  Yay!  I am hoping that this will FINALLY end all of our yard issues.  Fingers crossed!!  Maybe that means a patio in our future.  The two lots next door to us sold...bummer!  They are going to be GIANT houses and make our house look silly.  I am hoping that they do it soon because having those machines right outside of my bedroom sucks!!

We went out for Mike's 29th birthday on Tuesday and Wednesday...so hard to believe my husband is 29!!  When we met, he was not even 21 yet...WOW that feels like forever and a lifetime ago!  My dad and Jackie took us out to a little crab shack in town and that completely made Mike's night.  Then the next night Kim, Lindsay, and Vernon took us to a new restaurant in town called IJ Cannes.  It was actually quite good.  I am so happy that there is now another good option for food here, because they were certainly lacking.

25 weeks:
Baby has had the hiccups a few times now :)  I forgot what that felt like!!  Had a great doctor's appointment on Tuesday and everything is measuring right on track.  I will have my glucose test in three weeks. Exhausted as ever, but nesting is kicking in!  It really is so strange to feel the baby kicking your gut. He is an active little guy!
